It was apparent early on that today's Twitter Fest Friday question really struck a nerve with the Twitterverse. The replies were fast, furious, and passionate. When it comes to pet peeves in business I've written here a couple times about what mine are, and I was also happy to see that I'm not the only person who has certain peeves they just cannot over look when doing business. What's interesting is that a lot of the replies overlap, so it seems that many of us have the same pet peeves when doing business with others, so the question becomes "Why don't businesses focus more on allieviating these irritants?". Some might tell you they don't have time to fix it, others may not know it is a problem, and hopefully for only a select few they just don't care.
The takeaway for businesses here is to really look at these replies, look at how impassioned people get (using the word "hate") when talking about things that drive them crazy! Let your competitors make the mistakes below, you certainly don't have too. The old adage rings true that if someone has a good experience with your business they will tell 1 person, if they have a bad experience they will tell 10.

What's your biggest pet peeve when it comes to business...Or doing business with someone?
KrisColvin: My biggest pet peeve is with myself - doing business & gaining traction & agreement take time. I am too impatient.
glwallace: 1. When they show up late. 2. When they take a call during our meeting. 3. When they don't take notes. (I could go on and on)
MichaelGuerin: biggest pet peeve would be people who don't follow thru... all big talk and no action.
jantallent: my biggest pet peeve in doing business would be people who you can NOT please no matter what you do or do not do
Eric_Brantner: - My biggest pet peeve is when someone hires you for your expert services, but then they try to tell you how to do your job.
johnflynn50: Very good post. How about sales people who are clueless about the product they are selling?
debbiemahler: My Biz peeve is clients who want to reinterpret the contract to include more work they need you to do but don't want to pay 4
BizJunkie: Can't stand having to deal with people that are not potential buyers, but just want to talk and sound smart. What's with that?
hblackwell: Why do businesses hire people who cannot smile (especially under pressure)? simple thing - but so overlooked
Bill Wassenaar Simple: Dealing with other businesses not run by actual business people. There is so much wasted time in the business world when trying to deal like this. Have they never read “E-Myth”?
Heather Whamond I hate automated sales calls - phone calls about actual sales. Payless Shoes is a major offender.
Kimberly White Businesses that do not return phone calls or emails after THEY have requested you contact them. http://www.accountingoutsidethebox.net
NikiSherman: It bugs me when someone assumes they know all about what you're trying to talk to them about without listening to a word .Don't forget the deadline to win $100 of our hard earned dollars is 11:59pm PST November 16, 2008. Where else can you get $100 for 500 words? We're looking forward to what you have to share!

@James
I’m currently trying to develop that functionality. Not quite sure what it will look like, but any ideas or feedback you have would be appreciated.
