Be a Better Leader in 60 Seconds

If you have sixty seconds to spare today, this short e-book will make you a better leader.

True, the book is 25 pages long and it would take you longer than sixty seconds to read that much – however, everything you really need to know about leadership is summed up on the first page.

The 60 Second PHD in Leadership

Think back on the best boss and the worst boss you ever had:

1) Make a list of all the things they did to you that you abhorred

2) Don’t do those things to others – EVER

3) Make a list of all the things they did to you that you loved

4) Do those thing to others – ALWAYS

With this information alone you have 99% of everything it takes to be an effective leader.

Have Longer than 60 Seconds?

However, if you have a bit longer than 60 seconds today I encourage you to read the rest of the e-book to pick up even more tips and insight into what it takes to lead effectively. It’s not as hard as you may think.

What’s Covered?

Some highlights from this succinct book include:

  • What is a leader?
  • Leadership – probably not what you think it is
  • Leaders don’t create followers
  • Great leaders tell three stories
  • Don’t get hung up on too many targets and measures
  • And many more…

A leader needs followers, and I don’t have many of those.

great advice assuming everyone has had some good bosses. What about people who went through life struggling with bosses they hated? They’ll know exacatly what not to do but they’ll have no clue what to actualy do. But I’ll read the whole ebook; maybe they explain all that stuff more thoroughly.

If you’ve only had bosses you hated, try my revolutionary “Opposite Method”…just do the exact opposite of what they did and you’re probably on your way to being a better leader.

That little four step process may sound oversimplistic and, truth be told, it probably is. HOWEVER, it does contain some big ol’ kernels of truth. Don’t do bad things, do good things. It’s never bad advice.

    @Jason
It doesn’t always have to be difficult right? Totally agree, “do good things” is advice that will get you a long way.

    Thanks for coming by,

    Thanks for book.
My 2 cents. I read somewhere about leadership that leader should constantly search for potential of his follower. Especialy potential that they don`t even know they have. This what i`m looking for in my bosses.

  8. Hi,
    Great post.
I particularly like: Exceptional leaders start with why, not what or how.
I would suggest that this is a lot like in marketing once we understand who are customer is, we must then seek to understand their ‘why’ – their problem that they would like solved or their need.
