During your formative years you no doubt had important talks with your mother, where she instilled in you the values you carry with you today.
You know, important stuff like the birds and the bees, and how to use social media for your business.
Well she was probably right on when it comes to the birds and the bees, but she left a few things out when she went over social media with you.
Let’s clear that up.
10 Things Mom Never Told You About Social Media for Business.
Don’t Be Upset
There you have it. Unfortunately mom held back some info – but don’t be upset with her, I’m sure she wanted to tell you but just couldn’t find the right words, or felt awkward about the conversation. Maybe she didn’t think you were ready for it, and was just trying to protect “her baby”. Try to understand.

These are great tips, Matt! I believe 9 and 10 are my favorite.
Though it took me a minute to realize that I had to ‘click through’ and that this was a slideshow presentation rather than a video, I liked the message. I think the messages are very relevant to the use of social media. #2 and #7 are biggies. People can often get overwhelmed and frustrated by social media.
Matt, this was excellent. I really like the list of 10 and the slide presentation was a nice touch!
@Stephen
Thanks! Yeah, I had a rare moment of creative spark hit me so I took advantage of it and put together the presentation…just a little something different.

Just keeping you on your toes! Yeah, I should have been more clear that it was a presentation…they changed the format on Slideshare and it’s a bit confusing now.

Hi Matt,
I’m here from George’s blog. Congratulations on being named the New Blog of the Week.
I love the slide show. My favorite is, “you get what you give”. And also, “what works for me may not work for you” Both are so true.
@Barbara
Welcome! Thanks for coming by to visit…I was pretty suprised George picked my little ole’ blog here to be featured, but it’s great.
Don’t be a stranger,
Matt
