The biggest and most successful companies in the world are all instantly identifiable by their logos and brand image. Some, such as legendary British sweet manufacturers Cadbury’s, are even known by their colours. If you want to make sure that your business is remembered and recommended, then having the proper branding is absolutely essential.
It all starts with a logo. People are so much more likely to remember the name of your business if they can associate an image with it. Think of any of the world’s most famous companies, and their logo will pop into your head immediately. This is what you want to happen for your own brand. Even more so, you want people to associate this logo with the products. Look at the Coca-Cola logo, and you can’t help but imaging their ice-cold beverage. This is what branding is all about.
While your logo might only be recognisable to a handful of people now, you’ve got to aim high. Make sure that your image is as well-designed as possible; you may want to have it specially designed for you. Not only will it help to make people remember you, it will also give your brand a far more professional appearance.
Think about where you’re going to have this logo. If you own a shop, then putting the logo on the building’s front is a no-brainer, but have you considered putting it on your bags or even on receipts? The more a customer sees it, the more likely they are to remember it.
As already mentioned, colours are also very important. Where possible, businesses like to tie in everything they can; signage, business cards and letter heads will all contain the same colour scheme to reinforce the brand. You should do this too.
